About
Head, Heart & Hands is run by Lucy Corrigan. Services are currently offered at 2 Edward Street, Glebe on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Lucy is a parent of two young children and understands the pressures and challenges that parents are faced with today. Lucy's passion for helping parents has developed from her own experience of parenting and the shared experience of her friends and family. Lucy has found that despite the romanticised imagery surrounding motherhood in popular culture, pregnancy and parenting can be really challenging. Lucy has also found that parents are often hesitant to share their struggles within their circles and many parents feel isolated and alone on a daily basis. Head, Heart & Hands was formed to fill this gap and provide empathy and support for parents when they need it most. Through her work as school social worker and family worker in the community sector, Lucy identified a need in the Tasmanian community for an easily accessible, private and confidential service dedicated to child behaviour and parenting. Head, Heart & Hands aims to address the barriers that many parents face in seeking support and assistance for parenting difficulties and related mental health issues.
Head, Heart & Hands is a consultation service providing assessment, planning and therapeutic interventions that are tailored to suit the needs of the family. Group programs, after-hours appointments or home-based support options are also available on request. Lucy is an experienced group work facilitator and provides parenting programs for groups of parents and staff at schools, child care centres, health centres or similar organisations.
